Hi every one.

Tami is starting to get better. I sure am tired.

We still thank everyone for there prayers.

As I posted last time, Tami, W98 computer went down and Thank goodness she had just got a new laptop (Gateway) and I got to setup Vista and Windows Live on it. The new install package is slick as greasy fish poop!

I sat up the Windows Live account first and had no trouble at all!

Now I need to rebuild the W98 computer and put Windows Live on it. So I'll  keep real good notes and tell every one start to finish how to set up the whole Windows Live package with all of the addresses for the parts.

First I go to

Select the products you want. I'll be installing:

Mail, (worked)

Messenger,(worked)

Photo Gallery, Writer,(didn't work)

Toolbar.(didn't work)

and Live Writer,(didn't work)

I'll not be installing OneCare, some thing about "Stay informed about their web usage from almost any computer, anywhere."

But, I don't have children in my home.

In Settings I will have Live Search but I don't want MSN. com for my home page also, Microsoft don't care about W98 so my data will be of no help to them.

It's always good to read the service agreement, and privacy statement.

So,I click install and give my permission for it to run and I find out it wants a newer Windows version to run.

Crap.

Lets see what we can get.

sign up for a free Hotmail account.

You will need to have a cool name picked out for your Web space already so your e-mail any web site will have the same name, (and password).

I Filled out the form, used my real name too.

End-of-an-Error@hotmail.com is ready but I got to sign in first, ( guess it's not ready )

I click continue and select Hotmail from the top of the page and I find I am already signed in. That was easy.

I'll add this site to my contacts by clicking new just under the windows live logo. Already it's found my pitcher. I want to receive contact updates, and now I have all of my information listed.

So I now have a Windows Live account, and a Hotmail account, What's next?

Messenger. I opened the Live icon at the top left of the page I was on and selected home then messenger and down load now.

I had to allow the install past my fire wall and accept the terms. (with W98 it's good to close all programs before installing any thing)

This will install MSN toolbar, MSN search, MSN home page, I don't want that so I un check it, and MSN Messenger short cuts.

After letting the new software past my fire wall, I decided not to help MSN toolbar and clicking through,

I come am at the windows live toolbar down load page.

OK, that one didn't work on W98

I sign into messenger and find there is a newer messenger, Will it work on W98? I don't know and I see no place to find out. I'll try it.

Click, click, don't change my home page, click.

I added this address to my contacts and have given permission (on this machine) to add this contact to my list. It seems to work.

What's next? The web page, photo gallery, and the writer. Because the writer and maybe even the photo gallery post to the web page, and the fact that messenger has a button to go to my space, I'll try that next.

I find myself at a place called Neil's space where I can chose a web address. I do that, and now The web site,

Hello to all of my new friends out there.

Tami is home from the cancer hospital, she got the feeding tube out, that was nothing but trouble! Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and Prayers for her. But. that isn't what this is about.

Tami's Windows 98se computer went out the other day, in was running we looked back and in there was the blue screen of death! Tried to reboot, it couldn't find an operating system on the C drive, but I had a back up operating system on the D drive. It found it and booted from it, and ate the D drive too. And all of her backups.

This is a good time to recommend the sky drive gadget also called I Drive as seen on my web site. I have two of them, one is private and you don't see it. (Again, I don't wright it and I don't work for Microsoft)

When I first installed the skydrive I thought it sounded like fun, but I didn't see the point. Now I do. Even thou Tami had every thing backed up to her D: The same machine can take it out too. By backing up your important work to the skydrive if your computer crashes or your house burns you can get your information from any on line computer. It's good to have. You can add it to your space by clicking the + in the box it's in I think. If you try it that way let me know how it goes. Thanks.

Now that I've had it a wile I have thought of a lot of other ways to use it, but I'll do a separate post on the skydrive latter.

Now on to the changes, with all of the gadgets I've put on my space it loads too slow.

I like the way other live users can check on how well the gadgets look and work, and lets face it, I filtered out a lot of crap. But if I am too have any text (content content content) I need to have it on a separate page and because space have one page, I need two pages, this one to play with the gadgets on and learn how to use them, and a new one to pass on what ever knowledge I may  Thinking someone's going to care.

Things to do wile visiting my world.

1. Play with all of the cool gadgets, I didn't write them, but I test a lot of them and keep the best ones. You can add any of them to your site by clicking on the + of the ones you want on your space. Keep in mind, they take time to load.

2. Say Hi, Leave a message, sign the guest book, or stick a file in the public folder, (keep it clean) take the pole or what ever else you can find to leave a foot print. Thanks

3. Use the tools found on this page to learn something about someone far away

4. Make a new friend .
